• Complementary Veterinary Medicine In Your Own Home •
with no need to change your vet

Welcome to Holistic Vet Scotland, a unique, integrated health care service for pets.

Run by myself, Robert Wallace, a vet in practice who specialises in complementary medicine. My philosophy, with regards to veterinary medicine, is that of an integrated approach combining the best of complementary veterinary therapies (provided my myself) and conventional veterinary care (from your own vet).

Most vets nowadays recognise the benefits of certain complementary therapies but lack the training and experience. As a vet with over 27 years of experience and further training in acupuncture and herbal medicine; I work in conjunction with your own vet to offer 'complementary' medicine in the true sense of the word.

Clients often come to me with the long term aim of increasing the quality of their pet's lifes and to reduce the use and dosage of conventional drugs.

Holistic therapies can help with many diseases and improve quality of life in disorders such as:
  • Arthritis and joint pain
  • Back pain and disc problems
  • Cancer management
  • Behavioural problems
  • Incontinence
  • Chronic Liver and Renal failure
  • Skin problems
  • Heart and Lung problems
  • Prostate disease
  • Bowel conditions
  • Constipation
  • Lick granuloma
I am happy to visit your pet in it's own home or at my practice in Falkirk. I believe that by examining your pet in their home environment, where they are more relaxed and themselves, I can obtain a more accurate picture of their problems. This in turn helps me to address and solve your concerns in the comfort of their own livingroom or kitchen or lounge or garden! Wherever your pet feels most at ease and relaxed.
A word or two about treating pets with cancer....
When they realise that their pet has cancer many owners will understandably want to try anything in order to help and will often turn to alternative treatments in the hope that they will find a cure. Unfortunately this is very rarely the case. I always try to be very clear on this point and explain that although I cannot offer a cure, I can in many cases help to improve their pets quality of life for the time they have left and sometimes even slow down the progression of the disease.
